Reading Programs
Beginning Reading Programs
A.C.E. has two beginning reading programs for young
children that may be used at home or in a classroom
setting. If finances are a concern, please keep reading.
1. Pre-School with Ace and Christi (Ages 3, 4, 5 Reading
Readiness)
The Pre-School with Ace and Christi reading readiness
program includes cartoon animal stories and songs, 60
PACE’s, physical and motor development activities, and
Bible and character-building stories. It is intended to
help develop quick learning of the letter sounds; to
encourage understanding of number concepts and word
relationships; to strengthen memory, visual, auditory,
and coordination skills; and to instill biblical
principles. This program teaches all the concepts and
skills a child needs before learning to read. He also
learns social skills, the wonders of God’s world, and
the reality of God’s love. The full kit can be purchased
in lots of four. The initial materials run AUD250.00 and
then AUD140.00 for the remaining three. The basic kit is
reusable and resalable.
2. The A B C’s with Ace and Christi (Learning to Read)
A B C’s with Ace and Christi is a phonics-based
learning-to-read program that prepares children for the
individualized A.C.E. PACE curriculum. A number of
outstanding reading tools, including a unique alphabet
sequence, a song for each sound, poems, displays, and
physical and motor development activities are
incorporated into the program. The Bible stories and
character development activities increase the students’
spiritual understanding and help them develop moral
integrity. The full kit sells for AUD395.00
Individualized Approach
The beginning reading programs use the same
individualized approach of grading used on higher
levels. Placement in a particular reading program is not
determined merely on the basis of age or grade. A child
is not necessarily ready to learn to read simply because
he is five or six years old. Before beginning the
learning-to-read program, the child, whatever his age,
must master reading readiness skills. On the other hand,
students who demonstrate that they have mastered reading
readiness skills can begin the learning-to-read program
whatever their age.
Reading Readiness Test
The A B C’s with Ace and Christi Reading Readiness Test
determines whether a child is ready to learn to read. A
child who scores 80 percent or above on the Reading
Readiness Test and who demonstrates a proper maturity
level is ready to learn to read and can begin the A B
C’s with Ace and Christi program whether they are five,
six, or seven years old. A student who scores less than
80 percent on the Test needs additional preparation to
get him ready to learn to read.
A B C’s Review Manual
The A B C’s Review Manual contains a review of the
complete A B C’s with Ace and Christi program. It may be
used for a child younger or older who missed a good
phonetic program during early schools years and who need
a basic phonics program to reinforce reading skills. The
set costs only AUD35.00
A B C’s with Ace and Christi – Advanced Lessons
Advanced Lessons have been developed to strengthen the
child’s basic reading skills. It is suggested that two
Advanced Lessons be presented each day. If you feel that
your child is not capable of two new sounds each day,
then present only one lesson each day. If your child has
been taught some phonics and is beginning to read then
this is another option to use and then progress them
onto the ACE PACEs (Packets of Accelerated Christian
Education). The cost is AUD26.10 for the lessons.
Readmaster Plus
Readmaster is a computerized reading program for Levels
1 through 12. It is designed to increase a student’s
reading speed and develop his vocabulary and
comprehension while building godly character through
values-based stories. Each of the 432 Readmaster
character-building stories (36 for each level) increases
comprehension with a story preview and a comprehension
test, builds vocabulary with a power vocabulary of over
4,000 words, and increases reading speed. A side benefit
of using Readmaster is increased computer literacy.
Videophonics (Remedial Reading)
The Videophonics course is a self-contained,
individualized learning-to-read program for adults and
students 10 years and older. It is a “stand-alone”
course for those who have never learned to read or who
need remediation to improve their phonetic reading
skills. Videophonics provides students with the broadest
possible learning experience by combining phonics
technology with emphasis on visual learning. The kit
contains DVD’s, workbooks and cassette tapes. The DVD’s
cost AUD43.00+ tax each.
